A Calalzo chiude la casa di riposo "Dorotea Vascellari". La notizia, di cui tanto si vociferava in paese, è stata ufficializzata nei giorni scorsi dal sindaco Luca De Carlo. «Una scelta sofferta ma doverosa - ha esordito il primo cittadino - perché la casa di riposo per il paese ha sempre rivestito un ruolo importante sotto il profilo sociale». Tante infatti sono state le persone che nel corso degli anni e a vario titolo si sono impegnate per offrire agli anziani la migliore ospitalità. Due anni fa però alcuni lavori di adeguamento ne avevano ridotto la capienza a 25 posti compromettendo già ogni ipotesi di gestione. L'operazione della chiusura è stata studiata in ogni minimo dettaglio per garantire ad anziani, Comune e alla Cooperativa Le Valli (l'ente che si occupava della gestione della Vascellari) il minor danno possibile.
Agli ospiti è stata trovata una collocazione assolutamente idonea in quanto sono stati già trasferiti alla struttura "Marmarole" di Pieve (l'ex Vazzoler), un centro moderno e funzionale.
